Our program has undergone many changes over the past several months. The administrative merger of various services now makes it possible for our health-care professionals to intervene at all treatment levels: they help clients in our ambulatory oncology clinic, in the cancer care unit, as well as in palliative care. Whats more, work reorganization plans are well under way and we are nearing our goal of modernizing procedures. These changes have enabled us to achieve a vast improvement in the working conditions of our nursing staff whose members now enjoy more balanced shift schedules and increased possibilities for continuing professional development. Nurses now have the option of working in a stimulating environment as members of a dynamic team whose main source of pride is client satisfaction. We are also undertaking a major renovation project which will enable us to update our facilities. New members adding their experience to enrich our interdisciplinary team include a unit head, training officer, nurses aide and music therapist, and a psychologist who will join the group shortly . |
