These last few months have seen many changes to our dialysis unit, including the addition to our team of a dialysis technician. By creating this position, we have moved to the forefront of care in Québec and brought about a great improvement in the working conditions of our nursing staff. Moreover, we recently updated our entire array of haemodialysis equipment and are now able to take advantage of the most recent technology available. This means a vast improvement in the conditions of practice and in treatment quality. Very recently, we also acquired a state-of-the-art dialysis water treatment and distribution system. We will soon begin using an integrated information system which will enable us to greatly improve our data management and the quality of our dialysis treatment. We also plan to undertake renovation and expansion activities of our facilities shortly, so as to create the most up-to-date working environment. Moreover, our team is presently working to set up a pre-dialysis clinic which will also help to improve the quality of client care. This past year we expanded our interdisciplinary team to include two new members--an assistant head-nurse and a training officer. |
