Social Services are an integral part of the
hospital team. Social work intervention helps patients and families cope with the social
and emotional factors related to illness which affect the person's ability to function.
Social work promotes the person's ability to recover and to maintain his/her health as
well as to reintegrate into his/her family and community.
SOCIAL SERVICES OFFER THE

- Psychosocial assessment and intervention
- Individual, couple, family and group counselling
- Discharge planning
- Information on, and referral to, community services
- Crisis intervention
- Education
