The Surgical Day Center plans discharges and gives information concerning the pre-operative and post-operative process, always with the involvement of the patient and family. The Center works in collaboration with the Patient Assessment Center. The care plan, initiated by the nurse after having admitted the patient to the unit, is carried out or revised.
Of our total number of surgeries performed annually, more than 65% of them are done through the Surgical Day Center. Patients come the morning of their surgery, and are discharged later the same day.
