Family Medicine
The Department of Family Medicine of St. Mary's Hospital Centre provides health care services and McGill University affiliated teaching for Family Medicine residents, medical students, and nursing students. The Chief of the Department, Dr. Alan Pavilanis, oversees the operations of three departmental divisions:

The Family Medicine Centre, under the directorship of Dr. Alan Pavilanis, is the home base for the McGill University Family Medicine residency training programme. Comprehensive primary care is provided in the Centre, including the care of pregnant and postpartum women, newborns, children, adolescents, and adults.

The Division of the In-hospital Family Physicians, under the directorship of Dr. Benjamin Schiff, participates in a broad range of hospital services in Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, Palliative Care, Medical Day Centre, Surgery, Psychiatry, and Pre-operative Assessment.
