The Research Centre has a strong commitment towards the education of the hospital's staff, of its patients, and of the neighbouring community.

It has established a program of seminars to help disseminate information, knowledge, and progress about the research projects being conducted at SMHC. While this is mainly aimed at an internal audience, the Annual Symposium on Research and Quality of Care, organized in partnership with the Department of Quality Management, is geared to attract a variety of participants from inside the healthcare network. Each year this symposium highlights different aspects and innovations related to a specific area of care.
