Spiritual Care
Any approach to optimising psychosocial well-being of cancer patients (and their caregivers/families) from a holistic perspective, must include attention to spiritual well-being.
This is particularly important given the existential nature of many questions raised by a diagnosis of cancer and the “meaning” of this for an individual and their caregiver/family.
The inclusion of spiritual care services as a referral resource is important as the diagnosis of cancer can lead to a crisis of faith or belief.
