Media Advisory: Linking Performance to Quality at the heart of St. Mary’s Symposium on Quality of Care and Research - 2013 edition

Montreal, April 22, 2013 – Members of the media are invited to join the experts present at the St. Mary’s Hospital Center "Research and Quality of Care" 13th Annual Symposium, to refine knowledge and share new ideas. Doctors, nurses, managers, residents, health professionals, students and researchers from across the health care network and beyond, will be attending.

“We want to include clinical performance into our daily preoccupations as an institution because not only is it a national and global trend, but we also believe it is essential for evaluating patient services and care. While there has traditionally been a focus on financial performance, we also have to look, as a responsible health institution, at how we are doing in terms of clinical performance,” explains Marc Pineault, Coordinator - Quality and Risk Management.

This symposium represents an excellent opportunity to discover research results stemming from work by researchers at St. Mary’s Research Centre and quality improvement projects performed by quality teams. This event is also a way to build relationships and initiate new collaborations between researchers from different fields, clinicians and other professionals.

Research and quality improvement teams will present the fruits of their labours.

Where:  Hôtel Ruby Foo, 7655, boul. Décarie, Montréal (QC).

When:  April 24, 2013 – 11:00 am to 4:30 pm.
