Did you know that the St. Mary’s Hospital Centre (SMHC), a constituent institution of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de l’Ouest-de-l’Île de Montréal,  was part of one of the largest cancer network in Canada, the Rossy Cancer Network (RCN).

This network, created in 2012, is the result of collaboration between McGill University, the McGill University health Network (MUHC), the Jewish General Hospital (JGH) and the St. Mary’s Hospital Centre (SMHC). Its main objective is to improve the quality of care and the satisfaction of patients, increase the survival rate and reduce the burden caused by cancer.

The RCN, part of the Quebec cancer network, provides an extraordinary opportunity to promote the advancement of patient care through a uniform performance and quality framework as well as resources and tools.

This collaboration was made possible thanks to the exceptional support of the Rossy Family Foundation (RFF) and its financial contribution of $30M as well as several other foundations – including the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation – who contributed $28M to start this initiative.
